# What support does Placematic provide?

> Contracting, entitlements, and implementation guidance. Not a support tier, and not a substitute for HERE's own escalation path on map data.

# What support does Placematic provide?

**Short answer:** We are the contracting party, we confirm entitlements, and we help you architect the integration. We are not a 24/7 NOC, and for a map data defect our escalation path is one hop longer than yours would be with a direct contract.

## What we do

**Contracting.** Placematic USA LLC is the contracting and billing party. One contract, one invoice. You never open a HERE account.

**Entitlement scoping.** You tell us what you're building — "truck routing for an ELD platform," not "we need mapping" — and we enable the right products. This is where the `403`-in-week-six problem gets solved in week one.

**Redistribution and licensing.** If you're embedding HERE into a product you sell, the redistribution question needs answering before you build. A Gold Partner is the right party for that conversation, and it's short when the partner holds the contract.

**Implementation guidance.** Architecture review, cost modelling, migration sequencing. We've deployed HERE into production ELD systems, and much of what's in these docs came from doing it badly the first time.

**Cost evaluation.** Instrument your call counts, model both commercial models, and produce a number you can defend. See [Cost Reduction Audit](https://placematic.com/here-location-services/cost-reduction-audit/).

## What we don't do

<Warning>
  **We are not a support tier for the HERE platform.** If HERE has an outage, we're reading the same status page you are.

  **We do not shorten the escalation path for map data defects.** If a route is wrong because the underlying map attribute is wrong, that's HERE's data, and a partner contract adds a hop rather than removing one.

  If that latency matters — if a wrong route is a bridge strike rather than an inconvenience — **that's a genuine argument for a direct contract.**
</Warning>

**We don't write your integration.** These docs exist so you don't need us to.

**We don't guarantee savings.** Cost depends on your call mix, volume, region, contract, and architecture. Anyone quoting a percentage without seeing your logs is guessing.

## What good engagement looks like

**Week one, not week six.** Bring the entitlement questions before sprint planning. Ten minutes of `curl` against every endpoint in your design.

**Bring your logs.** Per-endpoint call counts, from production, not estimates. Every useful conversation about cost starts there.

**Bring your current contract**, if you already license HERE directly. We'll tell you honestly whether we can improve it. Sometimes the answer is no.

## The honest framing

Most of what determines whether your location platform succeeds is not the vendor.

It's whether you materialized your delivery zones, cached your geocodes, and stopped reverse-geocoding every GPS packet. **None of that requires us**, and all of it is documented here.

We are useful for the parts that are commercial: entitlements, contracts, redistribution, and pricing tiers you cannot access directly.
